Administration

You can visit the Office of the Administrator, at the Secretariat, SOA 37 for enquires and other needed information. The Office is located at the Consultants Office complex, on top of the Laboratory Department, 37 Military Hospital. Opening hours are on weekdays from 8:30am to 4:00pm.

Lectures

Lectures are organized in well-resourced classrooms with modern teaching aids that enhance teaching and learning. Students also participate in the Departmental meetings where topics of clinical interests are discussed.

This is the official website of the School of Anaesthesia 37 Military Hospital, Accra, Ghana.

This school was started in 2005 to train nurse anaesthetists with the award of an Advanced Diploma certificate. It is now affiliated to the University of Cape Coast, Ghana and running Bachelor of Science Degree in Anaesthesia programme.

Latest new & events of our school

Annual Research Workshop For Student

The 2019 Research Workshop for students came on as planned from the 18th to 21st July. It was organised by the School in collaboration with the 37 Military Hospital Institutional Review Board. Students were taught how to write research proposals. They where also educated on the various features of academic research presentation.

Clinical Meeting With U.S Army Medical Corps

A group of Military Officers from the United States Army Medical Corps participated in the Departmental Clinical Meetings.
This was part of their familiarization visit and joint Medical Service with the 37 Military Hospital.
The DOA(Department of Anaesthesia)37, holds regular clinical meetings every Monday morning(excluding holidays), where various topics are presented to enhance Continuous Professional Development of the anaesthetists(doctor anaesthetists and CRAs) and other medical staff. It is also a platform for discussing case seminars and quarterly morbidity and mortality meetings of the department.
The CRNAs from the U.S. Army presented on Malignant Hyperthermia and selected Local Anaesthetic Blocks during their visit.
Every student is expected to attend the morning meetings because it affords them the opportunity to further tap into other rich sources of clinical knowledge and skills in anaesthesia.

37 SOA EXCELS IN MDC LICENSURE EXAMINATION

All 14 final year students from the School of Anaesthesia, 37 Military Hospital who sat for the 2017 Medical and Dental Council licensure examinations passed successfully. The Intake 11 students are currently undergoing a top-up programme to obtain their BSc Degree in Anaesthesia after upgrading from the Advanced Diploma in Anaesthesia programme.
They were successfully instated by the MDC at an induction ceremony for newly qualified Physician Assistants and Certified Registered Anaesthetists at the College of Physicians and Surgeons, Ridge on December 15, 2017.
